Kaitlyn Cooper

Kaitlyn is originally from a small mountain town in Colorado. The lack of mental health services available in her hometown sparked a lifelong interest in mental health and improving the lives of others. She moved to San Diego 6 years ago to study for a Bachelors in social work at San Diego State University and is currently pursuing her masters there as well. Her areas of special interest include working with kids of all ages, the LGTBQ+ population, and promoting easily accessible mental health services. During her Masters program, she plans to attain the Pupil Personnel Services Credential and work within the San Diego school districts after graduation.

Kaitlyn is excited to be an intern at Mending Matters and is looking forward to working with her favorite population and new colleagues in a new setting and to learn as much as possible during her time here. She hopes to gain many new professional skills, experiences, and connections.

Outside of work and school, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with family and friends and her kitten Luna, taking weekend trips, playing Nintendo switch games, and doing creative art projects. She hopes to one day travel the world.
